Amanda Monroe Finn

Amanda Monroe Finn is a video artist who loves creating a unique world within the boundaries of a video—eliciting emotion through the use of light and composition. It is very hard to get the essence of a video using thumbnail images - so we wanted her site to be that world. My goal for the project was to give the viewer a sense of her distinct film style, leaving with the otherworldly experience of “watching” one of Amanda’s videos, even if they never clicked play. Every page was designed as a still, some with storyboards, some with video layering, some with type. 

I met Amanda on my great friend’s wedding day. She was holding a rainbow maker because she knew that my great friend loved rainbows. Amanda is that kind of maker, a girl who turns wedding videos into art documentaries about love. A very personal artist needs a very personal place to show her work. Her daughter Paloma was born on the day we finished this project.
