REFUGYM

REFUGYM.png

“... But mental health is difficult to address. How do we begin to address the mental well-being of thousands of people who have a different language, a different culture and a different approach to viewing health?”

Refugym runs exercise classes (many taught by refugees themselves!) within a refugee camp located North of Athens. The camp is home to 3,000 people, predominantly from Afghanistan but also Iran, Iraq, Syria, Kurdistan and Pakistan.

Brittany (the founder) and I sent voice memos between the U.S., England, and Greece as I got to know this organization and the beautiful hearts behind it. If you want to design something for someone, you have to listen to who they are. What a beautiful mission to hear about.
